Krav Maga is efficient. Easy to do, easy to perform, easy to learn. The question is why. The answer is that all Krav Maga basic techniques, the fundamental techniques of the system are based on natural responses. So the natural response is the foundation for every technique. So when you start to do something, when you start to react, from that you really do a technique. So the attack is triggering your natural response, and from natural response you are performing the technique. So there’s no contradiction, never contradiction, between a natural response in the system and a technique in the system. A natural response in the system of your body genetically and the technique in the Krav Maga system.
Imi used to say like this, “If my hand is here, and the attack is coming from here, this will be an inside defense to deflect the attack if the attack is coming from here.” Meaning an inch to the other side, then outside defense will be needed to deflect the attack. So overall, the attack and the angle between the attacker and yourself is dictating the solution. So all techniques are based on this. That’s why Krav Maga is simple. That’s why it’s effective and easy to learn.
