Defending low strike today. A predominant area, starting from a passive stance while the attacker is attacking diagonally from the side. Defending with the high elbow, low palm. Inside defense with the forearm moving diagonally forward. You can defend with a closed hand, whether the attacker is attacking with the left or with the right strike. Deflect the attack, and with the same motion, continue to hammer punch sideways. While the forearm is deflecting, the other hand is coming up through the opposite cheek. Finish with the appropriate counterattacks and move away from danger zone as needed.
Inside defense with the forearm, high elbow, low palm, against a straight punch to the head. You should start from the position, which enables you and make it comfortable to do the technique. Practically, the elbow is creating a movement that looks like an arch, with this deflecting the attacking arm. Continue with a bit of a sweeping motion with the elbow and forearm, then raise the forearm to attack with the elbow strike sideways as the first counterattack. Finish with the relevant counterattacks as needed. As the attacker is coming diagonally from the side, the same defense is being utilized whether he is attacking with the left or the right hand.
Here, in the dry drill, we are demonstrating the starting position. The natural response that triggered the defense is being changed a bit into the efficient defense and counter attack.
