Sliding kicks. Such a kick is done with less preparation advancing and hitting the target. From a regular passive stance start with the kick, and then while shifting your weight forward, slide on the base leg covering a couple of feet, about half a meter in order to reach the target. It is rather easy to execute this technique from the general ready stance. You should start with the kick itself, meaning start sending your kicking leg towards the target. As this is happening advance with a sliding of the base leg on the surface, taking you about half a meter, about two feet forward. An attacker, an opponent who feels he’s ready to be far from you, will be greatly surprised when this attack hits him.
A side kick with sliding action. The principle of sliding kick is simple. Start the kick and then slide towards the target covering distance that enables you to hit the target. From a passive stance while the target is beside you, start with raising the leg, turning it towards the target in order to create a side kick. While doing so slide with the base leg, turn the base leg, to enable yourself to hit a long and efficient side kick.
