Defending Long Weapon AttacksDefending Long Weapon Attacks
By: Eyal Yanilov
A long weapon attack in Krav Maga is defined as a blunt-force object. This can be almost anything from a broom handle, to a police baton, or a baseball bat just to name a few. Krav Maga has built up a training methodology which gives some universal sets of defenses for these objects, and teaches the Krav Maga practitioner, first and foremost to understand the situation in which the attack is taking place, and then deal with the threat, in the most efficient manner possible. . . . Differentiating Between Different Types Of Knife ThreatsDifferentiating Between Different Types Of Knife Threats
By: Eyal Yanilov
In Krav Maga, we differentiate between several types of knife threats according to several different paramaters such as: The distance the attacker is from you, The way he or she is holding the knife, Where he or she is positioned, What type of grip or control does the assailant use and the position of the defender. . . . Ground DefenseGround Defense
By: Eyal Yanilov
One of the most dangerous situations you can find yourself in is being on the ground with an attacker on top of you. In Krav Maga, we stress with utmost importance to do anything you possibly can to get up off the ground as quickly as possible. When on the ground your goal should be very clear: GET UP! In a situation where there is an immediate danger such as a choke or attack you must first neutralize that immediate threat before you can focus on getting up off the ground. In this section you will learn how to defend yourself from any and every situation that may arise once you are taken down to the ground. . . . Watch Videos

With certain grabs the attacker could pin you into your place, or move you around or even inflict pain, on the other hand there are grabs with which the assailant can cause grate damage or possibly even kill his victim. . . . "Human Weapon":

Defense From Rifle / Long Gun Threats
By: Eyal Yanilov
Defense From Rifle / Long Gun Threats The Main Difference between disarming a handgun and a long-rifle stems from how the weapon is held (with both arms in the case of the rifle) and of course, it's length. The techniques taught here taken both from principles we learn in the handgun techniques (understanding the context and threat-level of the situation) as well as the 2 handed stick attacks (as physically -in essence, a gun is a big stick -which of course shoots bullets). Another point where the rifle and pistol defenses differ is when you grab the barrel of a pistol (or semi-automatic handgun) the attacker can only get out one shot (your hold is preventing the mechanism re-firing) -in a rifle situation, this is different. In the videos we will explore the body positioning, technique as well as understanding what to do at the different ranges the rifle threat poses. . . . Watch Videos
Rear Naked Choke Release
By: Eyal Yanilov
Rear Naked Choke Release The Rear Naked Choke is one of the most common forms of chokes on the street. This choke, if applied correctly will render you unconscious and leave you vulnerable to whatever your attacker decides to do with you. Therefore, it is imperative to know how to prevent and release yourself from this choke. . . . Watch Videos
Wrist Grab Releases
By: Eyal Yanilov
Wrist Grab Releases Wrist grabs are some of the most common ways that violent altercations and confrontations begin. Knowing how to effectively release yourself from various different wrist grabs is essential in order to most efficiently disconnect from your assailant and give you the opportunity to either flee or defend yourself from an advantageous position. . . . Hand Strikes
By: Eyal Yanilov
Hand Strikes One of the most basic building blocks of all fighting systems is the way it's practitioners strike. In Krav Maga, specifically, the way you hold your hand when you punch someone is extremely significant, and can mean the difference between broken bones or a successful encounter with your foe. . . . Defending yourself against Knife Threats We start with teaching specific and defined techniques against some basic knife threats. In the second stage we are taught how to use the principles we got while practicing the initial set of techniques learned, in order to solve a variety of attacks (done in a somewhat similar manner).
