One should train mentally to deal with confrontation, to deal with violence, to deal with friction with other people, to deal with attacks. It’s very clear that every physical confrontation, every physical attack, every incident which is a violent incident, you need mental resources to withstand them, to hold there, to keep on going, to overcome stress, to overcome the anxiety, to overcome all these destructive feelings. Every confrontation is also mental. By the way, not every confrontation is also physical.Whatever confrontation you are facing, the end of it is you have to be the winner. What does it mean to be the winner? Very simple. That the opponent either doesn’t want or cannot continue. That’s it. It doesn’t mean that you punched him. It doesn’t mean that you attacked him more or less. It just means that the opponent would not be able or will have no desire to still be at a risk to you, to still be dangerous to you.
So, in your training, and naturally if it happens in reality, remember this, that you need to continue and strive to win and finish the situation, and the desired outcome is that the attacker is unable or doesn’t want to continue. Train on it.
